It sucks that it's so complicated, but I've had no problems to mention since doing this. Restart once more after that, and your laptop should be working right as rain! I knew it was installing because it made me agree to a license agreement, but, again, YMMV.

I had to run it a second time for it to actually install the driver software. The first time I ran it, it only seemed to uninstall some other Synaptics software.
Run the driver software we downloaded in Step 1. Wait, it'll probably prompt you to restart, if it doesn't, make sure it's finished, and restart.Ĩ. Select "No, let me choose what to do" and (under that) "Never install driver software from Windows Update". Go to the Hardware tab and open "Device Installation Settings"ĥ.
